Frisco Public Library offers a constantly changing schedule of adult programs and lectures on a range of topics.

Income Tax Filing Assistance
February  4 – April 15

The Frisco Public Library and AARP team up again this year to offer tax form filing assistance and guidance. With expanded hours, AARP will offer twice as many opportunities for tax advice.  Be sure to bring your tax documentation with you as AARP representatives will be working with you individually to fill out your tax forms.

   

Opening Doors to Early Literacy

A series of workshops presented by Dr. James L. Thomas for parents and professionals. 

March  4,  6-8 p.m.  "Ready to Read"
In this workshop participants will learn about early reading skills, how those skills relate to brain development, and basic ways to integrate them into daily routines.

April  8,  6-8 p.m.  "Language Play for Infants"
Participants will learn ways of organizing a setting and providing activities that encourage the development of infants (newborn to 12 months) that lays the foundation for early literacy success.

May  6,  6-8 p.m.  "The Young and the Restless"
Participants in this workshop will learn ways of introducing concepts such as alphabet, counting, shapes, colors, selecting developmentally appropriate books, integrating foreign languages, and much more.

May  20,  6-8 p.m.  "Making Story Times Memorable"
Participants will learn how to make story or circle times for 2, 3, and 4 year olds an experience that engages them and develop early literacy skills. It will include how to present books, incorporating songs and rhymes, and identifying books appropriate for each age.

Space for each workshop is limited.

Gardening in Collin County: Tips and Techniques

Master Gardener Dorothy Ingram teams with Gay Worley, president of the Frisco Garden Club, to present gardening techniques and tips of the trade sure to benefit beginning and advanced gardeners alike. In this perennially popular program, you will learn how to select and care for climate-appropriate plants that result in spectacular gardens.

 
Digital Photography 101:
An Introduction to Capturing Spectacular Images

Come learn how to use your digital camera to take stunning photos, whether you are photographing your family pet or a crimson sunset. A representative from Collin College will present the basic concepts of digital photography and tips for the best compositions. This program will prepare you to take spectacular photos on a summer vacation, at a family event, or anytime!
