Apply for a library card here.
Library cards are free to Texas residents who can provide a valid photo ID and proof of Texas residency (your current driver's license counts as both). Should your photo ID not have your current address, you will need to bring proof of your current address in addition to your photo ID.
Library cards are free for any child, provided their parent or legal guardian has an account in good standing.
Library cards may be applied for by using the Apply for a Library Card online form. After registering, the card may be picked up at the library's first floor Cards and Accounts desk. New cards must be picked up within 30 days. Library card borrower terms may be viewed here.
Checkout & Renewal Guidelines:
- A library card must be used to checkout materials (card must be physically present at time of checkout).
- Books, audiobooks, and music CDs checkout for two weeks (some limits on selected items). These item types may be renewed online, by phone, or in person a maximum of two times if the library card account is in good standing and there are no holds on the materials.
- DVDs checkout for one week (limit six per card) and may be renewed a maximum of one time online, by phone, or in person if the library card account is in good standing and there are no holds on the DVDs.
