Ebooks and Downloadable Audio


Ebook

Ebooks are accessible online through NetLibrary.  You may search our catalog and discover a title you would like to read that is available in this innovative format.  To view ebooks, you must be a card-holder and set up the account with NetLibrary through a Frisco Public Library computer. However, after the initial set up, you may view our ebooks from home or any other PC with Internet access.  Not only can you read the ebooks, you may make notes and place bookmarks in the ebooks.  If you need help setting up your NetLibrary account, ask a librarian to guide you through the process.

 
To set up a free account, please perform the following steps from within the Frisco Public Library:
  1. Go to http://www.netlibrary.com/ on a library computer.
  2. Click on Create an Account.
  3. Enter a username, password, security question and answer, first and last name and email address.
  4. Click on Create Account. A message confirming the account has been created displays. You return to your affiliated library home page or to the page where you were prompted to login.
  
 

Downloadable Audio

You may also check out audio books through NetLibrary.  At this time, there are over 1,400 titles from which to choose.  Audio books may be downloaded to your PC, then transferred onto an mp3 player (cannot be transferred to an iPod).  Unlike audio books on tape or CD, downloadable audio books may be checked out by several people at once.  No more long waits for your favorite bestsellers on audio!
  •  Download up to ten books at a time.
  •  Download for a three week period.
  •  Renew your download an unlimited amount.
  •  Check out the 30 new titles a month.
 
 
To download an audiobook, please perform the following steps:
  1. Log into NetLibrary eAudiobook Center.
  2. Seach for eAudiobook.
  3. Click Download this eAudiobook.
  4. Select an Option: Download CD Quality or Download Radio Quality.
  5. Click Save
  

 
Listening Requirements
Microsoft® Windows Media® player v9 and above is required to listen to this eAudiobook.

Software Media Players
One of the following software media players is required to listen to an eAudiobook:
Microsoft Windows Media Player v9 or higher
Musicmatch Jukebox v8.2 or higher
Nullsoft Winamp v5 or higher
