A Special Storytime for our Youngest Patrons

Designed with our youngest library patrons in mind, Babies & Books is a multi-sensory learning experience for babies, birth to 17 months. A springboard for literacy, this hands-on program will help parents and caregivers strengthen the unique bond with their infants through captivating stories, rhymes, music and movement.

Weekly themed programs include a book with a featured pre-reading skill, action rhymes, songs, baby signs with Beebo, our signing bear, and sensory exploration with music and a manipulative toy. The librarians will model ways in which parents/caregivers can fuel imaginative play, stimulate brain development, foster a love of reading and books and enhance communication with their babies throughout each and every day. Think of it as twenty minutes of pure baby delight!
Here’s what you need to know:
· Bring a blanket for your baby to lie on.
· Please switch off all cell phones and pagers during the program.
· All children must remain within an arm’s reach of accompanying adult.
· Please put all toys and food away.
· Feel free to step outside if a fussy baby needs to be comforted.
· Children need to come in clean diapers and be in good health.
